McDowall Ltd has been operating since 1953
and continues to operate today as a
family owned and operated business. The owners of the company apply a "hands
on" approach to the every day running of their business.
This allows an almost immediate reaction to any operational or management
issues that arise on a day to day basis, giving the company stability in an
ever changing environment.
The company has worked to consolidate its position in becoming one of the
largest transport operators in the South Island, with the most comprehensive
network of branches of any one transport company. To compliment this, the
Auckland branch provides a service from the North Island directly into this
network.
F W McDowall Ltd is comprised of 2 operating companies; McDowall Transport Ltd,
a full service rural transport company which also provides agricultural
contracting services and specialist excavation needs.
McDowall Freight Ltd, a nationwide express freight operator.
